Arrived at 0630, loads out already planing on 5m. Rigged 5.3m and 110L and
planed for a few runs, wind died a bit and could no longer plane. Came in
and changed up to 7.5m and 152L and was fully powered for a further 2
glorious hours. It was great fun as the sun broke over the mountain tops and
I was doing 2 mile long planing runs all the way over to Limone. Only
managed 2 dry gybes though but that didn't bother me. It was excellent
blasting along at 25 knots in nice sunshine on fresh water with lots of
other like minded souls. Packed it in as the wind died a bit more and I
couldn't plane but I had to go at that time anyway. All in all a brilliant
morning and well worth the 0530 alarm call.
